Description

The Departmental COMSEC COMSECCommunications security (COMSEC) is the discipline of preventing unauthorized access to telecommunications information in readable form, while still delivering the information to the intended recipients. COMSEC is comprised of multiple disciplines such as Cryptographic security, EMSEC (Emission security), Transmission security, and Physical security. Authority (DCA) and Enterprise COMSEC Authority (ECA) are responsible for the Government of Canada’s (GC) departmental COMSEC program. This course will assist both DCAs and ECAs to understand what their roles are and where they fit in the COMSEC hierarchy.

Objectives

  • Perform the duties and responsibilities of a DCA
  • Describe account management best practices
  • Create action plans for various events encountered on the job

Target audience

Government of Canada (GC) personnel who have been appointed as a DCA or ECA.
